Melpo Mene of Stockholm has signed to Coppertree for a 180g vinyl release of his second album Bring the Lions Out. Fans of Jose Gonzalez will probably know of Erik Mattiasson's material, as he shares the very same label in Imperial Recordings. And like the Sony bouncy-ball advert turned so many folk onto Heartbeats, Melpo Mene's I Adore You was also made famous by a commercial. This time around, the advert was for the new Volvo. Another fine Swedish export. Stay tuned for more news nearer the proposed release date in early 2009.

]]> Daniel Johnston's Lost and Found is now back from the pressing plant, and in stock and shipping. We did host up 10 sets of test pressings, and 8 sets were snapped up like wild fire! Thanks to all of those that flew in at rocket speed to pick them up. Double check the store in case you'd like to pick a set up, as they are super rare and are the first batch of vinyl cut off the master metalwork.

]]> The Felice Brothers' self-titled album made the long-list for the Uncut Music Award for 2008. We can now happily confirm that the panel have short listed the album for the award. The auspicious panel of judges consists of Edwyn Collins, BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris and Mark Radcliffe, Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook, radio presenter and former NME editor Danny Kelly, 'Godfather Of Gigs' Vince Power, folk music legend Linda Thompson and chairman of the British Phonographic Industry head and former EMI chairman Tony Wadsworth. Chairing the judges will be Uncut editor Allan Jones. The winner will be announced shortly. Best of luck guys!!!!
